Day 1

Woke up today pumped as if it were the first day of school because, for me it kind of was. I started my Psych 461 class today which was supposed to be a class where I would be sent to an elementary school first grade room where I would assist the teacher as well as conduct basic research on the first graders. This class  ended up having complications with the time slot I picked and I was told that there may not be a place for me to go. I was absolutely furious! I had moved my entire schedule to accommodate this class alone. Fortunately they were able to place me in an Art classroom. This I quickly realized would be a lot more fun than the original plan.

When I first walked into the room Mrs/Ms (not really sure) Shelton greeted me with a big smile, asked me for my name. I responded "Charles but I go by Chase." She then asked "what should the children call you?" "Chase."
She just laughed "how about Mr. Chase?"
Mr. Chase, I just chuckled to myself about the way that sounded. It was weird being in that type of setting where I would be referred to as Mr.

None the less Ms. Shelton smiled, turned, and then introduced me to the class of first graders she had in the class at the time. All of the kids then looked at me and all at once said "Hello Mr. Chase" in that long drawn out way young kids do. It was at that moment that I realized finally and whole heartily that teaching is the career path for me. I had the idea in my head for a while but now it was 100%

I spent the rest of the day doing just basic grunt work as well as watching over the kids as they painted their traced hands primary colors.

cant wait for Thursday to see what it brings
